Illegal timber transport in Hincesti

During monitoring and control actions carried out by environmental inspectors from Hincesti, several cases of violation of environmental and forest protection legislation were discovered.

One of the cases was found during the verification of timber transport, where it was found that a significant amount of wood was transported without documents of origin, being the result of illegal logging in the forest. As a result, two infringement reports were drawn up in accordance with Articles 142(2) and 122(1) of the Contravention Code of the Republic of Moldova.

Another case of violation of environmental legislation was also discovered in the locality of Cărpineni, where a citizen intervened on the course of the Lăpușna river, carrying out works to block and redirect it.

For this action, the perpetrator was sanctioned under Article 113(3) and obliged to restore the river to its original state.

The inspectors also drew up reports for other infringements, such as neutralising waste by burning and depositing it in prohibited places, in accordance with Article 154(1) and Article 154(1) first of the Contravention Code of the Republic of Moldova.

The Environmental Protection Inspectorate will continue to carry out such verification and control actions to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and to counteract violations affecting the environment and the forest fund.
