Over 14,000 people called for an ambulance in one week
Over the past week, the Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service has been requested for 14026 patients, including 1948 children. Out of the total number of requests, the most frequent referrals to the ambulance were citizens with cardiological emergencies.
According to the National Centre for Emergency Pre-hospital Medical Care, in the last week ambulance intervention was requested for 3617 patients with cardiovascular emergencies, including 54 with acute coronary syndrome; 2051 were respiratory emergencies, including 998 acute viral respiratory infections; 1924 neurological, including 253 strokes and 1174 trauma.
During the period mentioned, AMU teams intervened in 37 road accidents on the country’s roads, resulting in injuries to 43 people. After the provision of urgent pre-hospital medical assistance 35 patients, including eight children, were transported to hospital for appropriate medical care.
At the same time, the Joint Emergency Dispatcher of IMSP CNAMUP received 42 calls due to toxic emergencies, including 15 alcohol poisoning, ten drug poisoning and seven carbon monoxide poisoning. There were also 36 emergencies caused by chemical and environmental agents, including 22 combustion.
